The tourist licence code in listings: where to put it on Booking, Airbnb and your website
The code VFT/MA/00000 or VUT/MA/00000 has to appear in all advertising of the home. Where to enter it on each platform and what happens if it is missing.

Short answer: the registration code (VFT/MA/00000 or VUT/MA/00000) must appear in all advertising of the home: Booking, Airbnb, Vrbo, your website, social media and even a sign in a shop window. The platforms have a specific field for it and, if you leave it empty, they can remove the listing. There is no need to stick it on the flat's door or on a sign visible from the street.
What has bound the platforms since May 2026?
Regulation (EU) 2024/1028, applicable since 20 May 2026, requires Booking, Airbnb, Vrbo and the rest to require the registration number before publishing a listing wherever a registration procedure exists (in Andalusia, the Junta's code), to display it in the listing, to carry out random checks that it is valid and to send the single digital entry point the data on nights and guests every month. That is why the code field is no longer optional in practice. Airbnb, on its Andalusia page, says expressly that the VFT/VUT code is mandatory and must be visible in the listing, and warns that registrations after April 2025 need the owners' association's authorisation. Booking also asks, under European tax rules (DAC7), for the cadastral reference. The national number (NRUA) is no longer requested: it was annulled in May 2026 (The NRUA has been annulled).
Where is it entered on each platform?
- Airbnb: in the listing, "Regulations" or "Registration" section, "Registration number" field. Airbnb shows it on the public page and, in Spain, has been blocking listings without a number in areas where it is mandatory.
- Booking.com: in the extranet, "Property → General info → Licence number" (or in the legal form that appears when creating the property). It is shown on the property page.
- Vrbo / Expedia: in "Property details → Legal information → Registration number".
- Your own website or a manager's website: on each apartment's page, next to the title or in the details section.
- Social media: if you post the flat with a price or availability, include the code in the text.
What exact format does the code have?
The one on your registration resolution. Copy it as is, with the slashes: VFT/MA/12345 or VUT/MA/12345. Homes registered before 2024 keep the VFT prefix; new ones carry VUT. There is no need to change one for the other.
Can I advertise before I have the code?
From the moment the responsible declaration is registered, yes. If the platform requires a number to publish, the declaration's filing registration number is used until the resolution with the definitive code arrives, and then it is replaced.
What happens if I do not put it?
- The Junta can penalise advertising without identification (an offence under the Andalusian Tourism Act).
- The platform can hide or remove the listing.
- A guest or a neighbour can check in the Tourism Registry's public search whether your home is registered; if it does not appear, reporting it is easy.
How does someone check that my code is real?
In the Junta de Andalucía's search engine for tourist establishments and services you can search by registration number, trade name, address or holder. It is public. We use it too before accepting the management of a home "with a licence": if the code does not appear or is in someone else's name, that has to be fixed first.
And the NRUA?
Not any more. The national registry number stopped being mandatory in May 2026, when the Supreme Court annulled it. If your listing has it, there is no harm in leaving it, but you do not need it. We explain it in The NRUA has been annulled.
