**Short answer:** Airbnb charges the guest when you accept the booking, but it does not pay you until they arrive. For most stays of 27 nights or fewer, it sends the money **before the end of the business day after the guest's check-in**. From that moment, how long it takes to show in your account depends on the method: to a bank account, **3 to 5 business days**. For stays of **28 nights or more** you get paid **month by month**. If you have not yet completed two stays, or your listing has unresolved issues, the payout is delayed until after check-out, and any payout can be held for review for **up to 45 days** (October 2026).

## When does Airbnb send the money for a booking?

According to its Payments Terms of Service, Airbnb generally charges the guest the total price at the moment you accept the booking. It sends the money to you later, and the date depends on the length of the stay and your history:

| Situation | When Airbnb sends the payout (October 2026) |
|---|---|
| Stay of 27 nights or fewer (the usual case) | Before the end of the business day after the scheduled check-in |
| Stay of 28 nights or more | The first month, the business day after check-in; afterwards, once a month until the end |
| Host who has not yet completed two stays (unless they have verified their listing) | Short stay: the business day after check-out. 28 nights or more: the first payout, 28 days after check-in |
| Listing with unresolved issues (low ratings, frequent host cancellations) or breaches | Short stay: the business day, 24 hours after check-out. 28 nights or more: the first payout, 28 days after check-in |

Note: that is the date on which **Airbnb sends** the money. After that, each payout method takes its own time. So, if the guest arrives on a Friday, the payout is sent the next business day and, with a bank account, you still have to add the days the bank takes.

## How long does it take to reach my account depending on the method?

These are the timings Airbnb publishes, counted from when it sends the payout:

| Method | Usual timing | Bear in mind |
|---|---|---|
| Bank account | 3 to 5 business days | The account must be from the same country as the address you gave. Airbnb may make a small test deposit |
| International wire | 3 to 7 business days | It may have fees |
| PayPal | 1 business day | It may have fees |
| Payoneer Prepaid Mastercard | 24 hours | Payoneer has to approve you first |
| Western Union | 1 business day, depending on the country | It has fees |

**Fast Pay** is not available outside the United States, and payout to a card only works with cards issued in France. Banks do not process payments at weekends or on public holidays, so on those days the payment moves to the next business day. Payoneer, on the other hand, does send at weekends.

The methods that appear depend on the billing country you choose when adding them. They are added in **Menu > Account settings > Payments & payouts > Payouts > Add payout method**. A new method takes a while to activate, so it is worth setting it up before the first booking. If you have several methods, you can split the money between them with **payout routing rules**: one listing to each account, or a percentage to each.

## How is a stay of a month or more paid?

For bookings of **28 nights or more**, Airbnb charges the guest **the first month in advance** and the rest periodically. It sends you the first month the business day after check-in and, afterwards, each month's money until the booking ends. If you are a new host, the first payout arrives 28 days after check-in. Airbnb also warns that in some places the guest may have the same rights as a tenant after a month. Before accepting long stays in a tourist home, read [tourist in summer and seasonal let in winter](/guias/turistico-en-verano-temporada-en-invierno).

## Why can a payout be delayed or held?

- **Anti-fraud review.** Airbnb can review any transaction. If it does, the money can arrive **up to 45 days after check-in**, be put on hold or, on rare occasions, disappear from your account. It may also ask you to verify your identity.
- **Your tax information is missing.** Under the European DAC7 rules, if you do not provide the tax information requested, Airbnb **freezes your payouts** after warning you, until you complete it ([the platforms report to the tax office](/guias/plataformas-informan-a-hacienda)).
- **Incomplete payout method.** If details are missing or cannot be validated, Airbnb can hold or suspend the payout.
- **Mass cancellations.** If there are many cancellations or changes due to a force majeure event, Airbnb can delay payments.
- **Refunds.** If you cancel a booking you had already been paid for, Airbnb refunds the guest their part and **deducts it from your next payouts** until it recovers it. It appears as an adjustment on your dashboard.

## What happens to the split if there is a co-host?

Only the **listing owner** can set what each co-host receives, and there are four options: the cleaning fee, cleaning plus a percentage, a percentage (with or without cleaning) or a fixed amount per booking. The co-host has **14 days** to accept the proposal. Changes only apply to bookings that start after the co-host accepts them.

- **When they get paid:** at the same time as the host and with the same timings as in the table above.
- **What it is calculated on:** on what the host would receive, that is, nightly price × nights + fees such as cleaning − Airbnb's service fee and taxes.
- **If there is not enough for everyone:** co-hosts are paid first and the host keeps what is left, which may be nothing.
- **Cancellations:** the split applies to what is left. This is Airbnb's example: the guest cancels a €150 booking, the host is due €50 and the co-host, with 10 %, receives €5.
- **What is not shared:** AirCover damage reimbursements or Resolution Centre payments.
- **What you do not see:** the owner cannot see their co-hosts' transaction history.

## Where can I see what Airbnb has paid me?

On the **earnings dashboard**: **Today > Menu > Earnings**. Under "Performance" you see what you have earned by month, by year or by listing. **Upcoming payouts** and **Paid payouts** show the status of each payment and each transaction, with its "Airbnb service fee". From there you can download reports as PDF or a spreadsheet (CSV). Airbnb says that what it reports to the tax office is based on what appears in the Payments & payouts tab of your account. Invoices and reports are in [Airbnb invoices](/guias/facturas-de-airbnb). If the figures do not match your manager's, see [why the figures do not match](/guias/cifras-no-cuadran-portales-gestor). What Airbnb keeps from each booking is in [what each platform charges](/guias/comisiones-booking-airbnb).

## What does a manager do with this?

On Airbnb, TGV works as co-host and the listing stays in the owner's account. That way, the earnings dashboard and the reports are yours, and you can cross-check each payout against the statement. Our commission is 15 % + VAT on what you receive from the platforms, not counting cleaning, which the guest pays separately. If you leave TGV, you keep the listings, the reviews and the photos.
